KANAVA YOUTH DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION (KYDO)

KYDO is a non-political, non-profit organization registered in Finland and Somalia. Founded in 2002 by Somali diaspora, it aims to address key development challenges in Somalia, including poverty, youth unemployment, illiteracy, extremism, climate change, and lack of institutional capacity. KYDO operates through a General Assembly, a Board of Directors (BOD), and an Executive Committee. The General Assembly, representing various communities, elects the BOD every three years. A team of dedicated professionals ensures the successful implementation of KYDO’s initiatives. The organization focuses on empowering vulnerable children and youth by providing vocational training, formal education, counseling, and rehabilitation services. Aligned with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, KYDO promotes self-reliance and sustainable development through community-driven projects and multicultural initiatives in Somalia.
